Liberal Democrat Opposition Council Leader Ian Thorn was asked to leave a Wiltshire Council Brexit Meeting yesterday in an effort to have an open and transparent discussion.

Asserting that Wiltshire residents should be made aware of Wiltshire Council's Brexit Preparations, Councillor Ian Thorn was asked to leave the meeting.

Tweeting after his removal from the meeting Councillor Thorn said, "Truly disappointed that I was asked to leave @wiltscouncil meeting today on preparations in Wiltshire for #brexit beacuase I wasn't prepared to accept that none of our discussion and the documents prepared could be shared, at least in part, with Wiltshire Residents."

Further to the tweet, Councillor Thorn has said "It is deeply important for everyone who lives and works in Wiltshire to know what its Council is planning should we leave the EU on the 31st October.

"Secretive meetings, behind lock and key, will do nothing to alleviate the fear and uncertainty that many residents and business owners in Wiltshire are facing."

With only 22 days until the 31st October, the pressure is on for Conservative controlled Wiltshire Council to make known its plans and to put residents' and business owners' concerns to bed.
