Demand Wiltshire Council Provide Free School Meals
Wiltshire Lib Dems are Calling on Wiltshire Council to Deliver Free School Meals During the Holidays
This week, Conservative MPs voted to deprive the most vulnerable children in society from free school meals throughout the school break. Wiltshire's MPs were among those who rejected the calls.
Over the summer, the Conservatives refused to offer support to families of children on free school meals. Thankfully, a campaign led by Marcus Rashford forced them to change their mind and provide food vouchers for the six week school holidays.
The Lib Dems are calling for the scheme to be extended and to guarantee vouchers for all future holidays and periods of lockdown. Locally, the Lib Dems are calling for Wiltshire Council to provide meals to the 4,983 pupils who are currently on Free School Meals in Wiltshire.
